Within the framework of Mara Palumbra, black and white magic are not moral categories. Birth requires death.
Expansion requires contraction.

Within our own teachings we distinguish between higher consciousness and the unconscious depths that shape human experience. Higher consciousness represents our connection with transcendent awareness, clarity and expanded perception. Neither is superior.
Neither is inferior.

The Tree of Knowledge reveals the complementary movement. Rather than ascending into higher awareness, it descends into the hidden architecture of the unconscious, where instinct, trauma, memory and the deeper archetypal structures of human consciousness reside. It is within these depths that authentic shadow work unfolds, confronting everything that has been rejected, denied or forgotten in order to transform fragmentation into wholeness.
Within the teachings of Mara Palumbra, neither Tree is complete without the other.
